Jan Astermark is Professor of Coagulation Medicine at Lund University and Specialist in Haematology and Internal Medicine. He is Assistant Head of the Department of Translational Medicine at Lund University, Senior Consultant and Director of the Centre for Thrombosis and Haemostasis at Skåne University Hospital in Malmö.

Professor Astermark has provided many international educational activities in haemophilia and von Willebrand disease over the years, and serves as reviewer for haematology journals. He has published a number of original articles, review articles and book chapters in the field of haemophilia and coagulation disorders.

Cedric Hermans currently heads the Division of Haematology, the Hemostasis and Thrombosis Unit as well as the Hemophilia Center of the Saint-Luc University Hospital in Brussels, Belgium. He was appointed Associate Professor at the Medical School of the Catholic University of Louvain in 2003, Full Professor in 2012 and Vice-Dean in 2015.

Professor Hermans has (co)-authored more than 320 original articles in international journals, and is a member of several scientific societies, international advisory boards and collaborative research projects.

He was president of European Association for Haemophilia and Allied Disorders (EAHAD) and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) and the Editor-in-Chief of the Haemophilia journal.

His main research interests lie in the area of hemostasis and thrombosis, especially clinical studies on the treatment modalities and wide spectrum of complications of hemophilia in both developed and developing countries, as well as new anticoagulants and the management of thrombosis.

Gerry Dolan is a Consultant Haematologist and is Haemophilia Centre Director at St Thomas’ Comprehensive Care Centre, London, UK and lead for the South London Haemophilia Network.

After receiving his medical degree from Glasgow University Medical School, Glasgow, UK, Dr Dolan held training posts in internal medicine and haematology in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Sheffield, UK. His research interests include the molecular aspects of inherited bleeding disorders, gene therapy and outcome measures of haemophilia care. His main clinical interest is in the management of haemophilia in older adults.

Dr Dolan has held a number of professional posts including Chairman of the Age-related DeVelopments ANd CommorbiditEs in haemophilia (ADVANCE) working group, Clinical Lead for the NHS England Clinical Reference Group for Specialised Haematology, Chairman of the United Kingdom Haemophilia Centre Doctors’ Organisation (UKHCDO) and President of the British Society for Haemostasis and Thrombosis.

Víctor Jiménez-Yuste is Associate Professor of Medicine at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and Head of the Haematology Department at the Hospital Universitario La Paz (Madrid, Spain). After his degree in Medicine at the University of Valladolid, he specialised in haematology at the Hospital Universitario La Paz. He was awarded his PhD by the Autónoma University of Madrid where he completed his thesis studying haemophilia and HIV infection.

Professor Jiménez-Yuste is a member of the executive committee of the Spanish Society of Hematology and Hemotherapy. His lines of research include the treatment of hereditary coagulation disorders, ITP and acquired haemophilia. He has published more than 200 articles in different journals on these topics.
